I did not know what to expect from this course and was moved by how profoundly it impacted my life.
Skeptical, curious and believing myself defeated, I signed up for Laura Dorsett’s Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation class. An injury sidelined me 7 years ago and I had been to every medical specialist in town. While they were all helpful, I left their offices with fistfuls of prescriptions and the belief I was broken. I did not know what to expect from this course and was moved by how profoundly it impacted my life. Over the course of the class I was able to discontinue use of pain medication – a huge relief for me. While the pain is still present in my life, there has been a shift. Ironically, by surrendering to it and not trying to change it, I’ve gained the greatest sense of control over my body and mind since this journey began.
I look forward to continuing my mediation/yoga practice with Laura. She is accessible, gentle, and accepting and has a pretty rigorous academic background to boot. She challenges you to examine personal beliefs without violating your personal boundaries. I can’t recommend working with her more highly!
