In honor of National Yoga Month, Laura Dorsett, MTS, demonstrates a few yoga poses that help to relieve tension in the neck, back and hips, and will leave you feeling revitalized. These gentle stretches are a wonderful introduction to yoga for beginners!

National Yoga Month was created by the Department of Health & Human Services to educate the public about the health benefits of yoga and to inspire a healthy lifestyle.

Eagle Arms Pose
Good for stretching stiff necks and shoulders.

Seated Spinal Twist
Loosens strained muscles in the back to revitalize the spine and posture.

Seated Pigeon Pose
Good for opening up the hips, glutes, and lower back.

Yogic Lunge/Runner’s Lunge
Good for opening up the hips and releasing the lower back.
