Dr. Gary Kaplan explains why establishing a healthy diet should always be the first step before determining whether supplementation is necessary. Speaking at the 2014 Prevention R3 Summit, he also offers specific cases where proton pump inhibitors, and supplements (such as magnesium or butterbur for migraines), can be beneficial for the individual, perhaps even reducing the necessity of other medications.
