Long-COVID: A Range of Disruptive Symptoms
Long-COVID Syndrome can lead to a wide range of physical and emotional health issues, including chronic fatigue, chronic pain, headaches, digestive problems, feelings of anxiety, depression, and nerve pain. These symptoms may be new or a worsening of a pre-existing condition. Long-COVID affects individuals of all ages, from the very young to the very old, without preference. This is leaving a lot of people feeling hopeless, frustrated, and searching for answers. But you are not alone.
What we are seeing with Long-COVID is that it looks a great deal like other chronic illnesses that start with an infection; conditions such as ME/CFS (Myalgia Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Post-Lyme Disease Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), neuropsychiatric syndromes, problems with depression, problems with anxiety disorders, and problems with chronic headaches.
Similarly, Long-COVID Syndrome is a multi-system condition that needs an integrative/multidisciplinary approach to address its wide-ranging symptoms. Long-COVID complications can affect several of your body systems, including the lungs, heart, gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and psychological systems.
