Menopausal Problems
Menopause is the segment of a woman’s life following her last period. Her body stops producing estrogen and progesterone hormones, and as a result, she can no longer get pregnant. Two to eight years preceding menopause is a time known as “perimenopause.” Perimenopause and menopause are natural conditions that many women are able to experience without seeking medical treatment. In some women, however, hormonal fluctuations can cause distressing symptoms, even to the point of interfering with daily activities.
Symptoms associated with menopausal problems may include irregular periods, hot flashes, sleep disruption, changes in mood, changes in libido, vaginal and urinary problems, osteoporosis, joint and muscle pain, cognitive changes, or weight fluctuations.
If you are experiencing menopausal problems that have become so severe that they begin to interfere with your sense of well-being, we encourage you to seek medical attention.

How We Can Help
At The Kaplan Center, our physicians have years of experience treating patients who are suffering from hormonal imbalances, and we completely reject the notion that “you just have to live with it.”
At your first visit, your Kaplan physician will take time exploring the onset of your condition, the specific nature of your symptoms and the overall status of your health. You’ll also be asked about the medications and therapies you’ve tried in the past, and what has and hasn’t worked for you. To gather additional information about your condition, specialized diagnostic laboratory testing may be necessary.
After reviewing all of the factors contributing to your condition, your physician will spend time talking with you about your diagnosis and working with you to create a customized and multi-dimensional treatment plan that addresses not only your immediate pain but also any possible underlying or co-existing conditions that may be causing or aggravating your symptoms.
Therapies offered at The Kaplan Center to reduce the impact of your menopausal symptoms include:
- Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
- Nutritional Counseling
- Nutritional Supplementation & Herbal Remedies
- Acupuncture
- Psychotherapy, EMDR & Guided Meditation
- Sleep Evaluation & Management
