Chronic Abdominal Pain

April 29, 2012/in Active Condition/by Website Administrator

Do you suffer from chronic abdominal pain? Chronic or severe abdominal pain can severely impact every aspect of your life. The physical discomfort you experience can be emotionally distressing, especially when you are unsure of what is causing your pain.

Chronic abdominal pain can be a symptom of a variety of conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease or Celiac disease. It can sometimes be caused by an abdominal migraine or even a herniation. Unfortunately, if left untreated, these conditions can result in long-term health problems. For this reason, it is important to receive a correct diagnosis as soon as possible so that you can begin receiving appropriate treatment and counseling for managing your illness.

If your abdominal pain has gone undiagnosed or the treatments you are receiving are not relieving your symptoms, your Kaplan physician will take the time to help you find answers.

Questions? Give Us a Call!

703-532-4892 x2

At your first visit, we’ll take time exploring the onset of your condition, the specific nature of your symptoms, and the overall status of your health. You’ll also be asked about the medications and therapies you’ve tried in the past, and what has and hasn’t worked for you. To gather additional information about your condition, specialized diagnostic laboratory testing may be necessary.

After reviewing all of the factors contributing to your condition, your physician will spend time talking with you about your diagnosis. They will work with you to create a customized and multi-dimensional treatment plan that addresses not only your immediate pain but also any possible underlying or co-existing conditions that may be causing or aggravating your symptoms.

We offer a multitude of effective treatment options, including:

  • Acupuncture
  • Herbal Remedies and Nutritional Supplements
  • Nutritional Testing and Counseling
  • Prescription Medications
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
  • Vitamin & Magnesium IV Supplementation

We are here for you, and we want to help.

Our goal is to return you to optimal health as soon as possible. To schedule an appointment please call: 703-532-4892 x2
